Baby sleep & settling support
I’m Jen Britton - former registered midwife turned certified baby sleep consultant. Sleep, settling and supporting families is what I live and breathe. I’ve been there… the crying, the catnapping, the overwhelm and exhaustion. With support and guidance from a sleep consultant, I found my calm confidence with sleep and settling. It was life changing.
As a midwife I cared for families in both hospital and home - from antenatal clinic to extended postnatal care and all points in between. More recently in an early parenting centre (aka sleep school) and private postnatal support.
The transition into parenthood is a rite of passage, yet in our society we rarely have the experience of caring for babies prior to parenthood or the passing down of wisdom we once would have. Sleep and settling support is so much more than a routine, it’s knowledge and guidance to develop a mindset and learned skills, leading to confidence and fluency.

It’s important that we both feel we’re a good fit for each other - the call isn’t for me to give any tips or advice but to get a basic understanding of your situation, if I think my service is right for you, for you to understand how I operate and the strategies I use and if you think I’m a good fit for your family.
-
Feel free to email me if you have a question or just jump straight in and book an intro call. From there, if we’re both happy to proceed then I’ll book you in as soon as possible, including any home visits. You’ll then receive an invoice and payment in full then confirms the booking.
You’ll be sent a detailed intake form and from there I’ll formulate a plan which you’ll receive a few days before we start, I’ll also book in a call to go through the plan and answer any questions.
Once we start I’ll check in everyday via text/asynchronised voice messages and you’ll give me your sleep log from the day prior for feedback. Tweaks can be made along the way if needs be.
At the end of our time together you’ll receive a follow up email detailing where you were and where you are now as well as what to expect next.
-
Either bank deposit or you can pay by credit card (please note a small surcharge applies), payment in full is made at booking to secure your spot.

I don’t prescribe to any one method but rather use my own blend and style. Under 4 months I share supportive and responsive methods that take the sting out of sleep and settling. I encourage you to give them the opportunity to self soothe when the moment is right, however the focus is on supporting everyone to become more calm and confident.
From 4-24 months we are promoting self soothing that’s responsive and parent supported, no baby is ever left in the wilderness, so to speak. We are just finding the balance between the needs of our babies and the needs of the modern parent in our society. The goal is for you to become calm, confident and fluent in sleep and settling, while your baby is loved and supported yet given the opportunity to be independent-ish.
-
Yes, absolutely. I take an individualised approach however as each baby is their own person, we then integrate if that’s what you desire. There’s a 50% surcharge per extra baby as there’s not a lot of economy of scale.

Daytime home visits can be for all ages and the only visit available from birth - 4 months. I visit from 10.00/11.00am - 1.00/2.00pm. I will guide and assist you with sleep and settling, answering questions in real time.
Overnight home visits are for night weaning/to sleep through and you can book one night (a Friday night) or two consecutive nights (Friday and Saturday nights). These are from 6.00pm-6.00am so I’m there for bedtime.
If I’m there for one night I’ll guide one parent throughout the night, if doing two nights you have the option of me doing all of the settling on the first night and then guiding a parent on the second, or a parent doing both.
I’ll advise on what I think would be most beneficial and you can decide from there.

Life happens, it does to me too. If you or your baby are unwell just let me know ASAP and we’ll find another time. If you cancel due to a change of heart I get it, however if you do this more than once I won’t rebook you - I’ll always clarify where I can but after I’ve provided all of the information I can it’s up to you to be decisive and follow through - what change is all about really.
dfJen provided us with both respite and sleep training at a time when we were struggling with a newborn. Thanks to Jen our baby became and continues to be a wonderful sleeper. She is a kind and professional person who is at ease with children (and cats!) and we could not recommend her more highly.

Jen has been absolutely brilliant, and we’d most likely still be struggling if we hadn’t had her help… Jen is warm and caring, and we felt at ease immediately. With Jen’s guidance, sleep improved rapidly… Alice slept through the first night in her cot, and has done so ever since. No tears involved. Considering Alice was waking up hourly overnight at 5 weeks of age we have been amazed with the progress. We would highly recommend Jen.

I couldn’t recommend Jen’s services more highly! She helped us sleep train our baby when he was 5 months old. He wasn’t a great sleeper to begin with, but ever since implementing Jen’s advice, he’s been sleeping through the night. Jen was so kind and supportive throughout the process. I felt like she made an effort to understand the type of parent I am and tailored her advice to my parenting style and my baby’s specific needs. While other parents were struggling with screaming babies and sleepless nights, I felt calm, confident and supported which was 100% because of Jen.
